MMJGA - Helping kids stay on courseA fun end to another great season.

Concluding a tremendous 2007 season, the MMJGA hosted a season ending banquet at Broadway Pizza on August 25th for all participants and families. It was a festive afternoon of pizza, pop and ice cream—a youngster’s paradise. But the food took a backseat, as the real highlight of the event was the award ceremony. For the first time ever, the program implemented a year-end bonus scholarship to all caddies who finished the year in good standing. This meant that no MMJGA caddie went home empty handed, as everyone in the program earned at least a $25 scholarship. There were, however, ten distinguished participants who earned even bigger scholarships from the MMJGA in appreciation of their outstanding work. And the winners are…

Caddie Name Award Scholarship Value
Charlie Caddie of the Year - Overall $1000
Marquise Caddie of the Year - Minikahda $500
Anthony Clinic Participant of the Year $300
Chanelle Caddie of the Year - Honorable Mention $250
David M. Caddie of the Year - Honorable Mention $200
David F. Caddie of the Year - Honorable Mention $150
Alex Outstanding Participation $100
Andrew Outstanding Participation $100
Chris Outstanding Participation $100
Jerry Outstanding Participation $100

It was instructed to the MMJGA caddies that all scholarship money given was to be used in some educational pursuit—new clothes for school, athletic gear, or golf equipment were the most common options. And it was the responsibility of the newly wealthier caddie to report back to the MMJGA as to how they used their funds. The event was a huge success with nobody leaving with empty pockets.
